Throwing Food

So anytime I give Moira a new food to try, she just throws it off of her tray. She doesn't even try it, she immediately just throws it. I wonder where she gets that from.... Any suggestions on how to get her to try stuff would be appreciated. I read that sometimes you have to put a new food in front of the kids 15 times before they will try it, but we are wasting a lot of money this way!
Last night she got up crying, but put herself back to sleep after about 10 minutes.
