I met my friend Gwen and her little girl at the zoo on Friday. Gwen was also babysitting two 5 year old boys, so she had her hands full. The most notable experience was getting kicked out of the aquarium by Jungle Jack Hannah. He was filming something about Steve Irwin's death, and he "suggested" that when they start filming the kids should leave, so they weren't yelling in the background during the serious subject matter. So we gatherd our things to go, and then he felt bad and told Gwen that we don't have to leave. She said it's okay, b/c she can't stop the boys from yelling anyway. After that, we went to see the manatees, and Moira got to walk around there, which she loved. She walked over to the middle of a family and started machine gun laughing for a very long time in the middle of this random family with 3 boys, who were calmly watching the fish. I don't think she really cared where I was, she was just happy that there were people around. She definitely doesn't cling to me when we go out in public, she is ready for the world. As long as she can approach the person first and they don't try to grab at her, she is fine.
Gwen had to leave to pick up her niece, so since we got there a little later, we found a place for her to wonder around. There is this cool little area in the North American Exhibit that has soft ground material and oversized words. She liked it almost as much as the Polaris Mall play area, but there weren't any other kids around, so that made it less fun for her. She fell asleep in the car on the way home.
Moi has gotten up crying in the middle of the night the last three nights. Night before last, she has totally soaked through her diaper, so I am guessing that's what the problem was. ??? Last night she didn't have her favorite kind of nuk, so I replace the one she was sucking on with the good kind, and she then slept the rest of the night. Hopefully it's not a new trend. She hadn't gotten up in the middle of the night for about a month before this.
We get possession of our new house today. Everything is in pretty good shape. It just needs a good wipe down. We were there on and off all day yesterday checking it out. Chris met with the old owner and he was very nice, and explained a lot of stuff. I have some pictures, but they are taking forever to load, so I will have to do it later.
