Feeding herself sweet potatoes and chicken

Moira playing the maracas. She absolutely loves them. She wants to play backup for her grandpas!
This weekend, Glamma Russell came to hang out with Moira and I with Daddy went to the NASCAR race with other Grandma (and Trent and his Dad). We had a good time and got a lot accomplished. We did some baby proffing, I painted the front steps, and we went to the Ye Old Time Pottery Barn, as Grandma like to call it. We went there not once, but twice. We got some chairs for the front porch and some planters.
On to more exciting news, this weekend has brought a lot of firsts from Moira! Grandma R. got her to crawl again, and now someone has witnessed it besides me. Grandma will also probably be really mad to know that 10 minutes after she left today, Moi did a sequence of 5 crawls! I think she could not have done it without all Grandma's help, however.
Moira has also started clapping whenever we say "Yeah!" . She claps her hands together and smile. I always do that after Itsy Bitsy Spider and she has caught on. It's sooooooo cute.
She also has started reaching for me. She won't reach for just anyone who wants to hold her though, just me. We tried it with Dad and Trent this evening.
When Chris got home from the race tonight, she kind of forgot who he was. She was being very shy with him, and when he said "Hi Moi Moi!" She would pull herself up to me and burry her head in my chest, and then look at him and smile. He would say hi again, and she hid her face in my chest again. She finally warmed up after about 10 minuts. Also she wouldn't take a bottle from him before bed. She just played with it and fussed, but then she took 8 oz. from me....
We are working on getting her to hold her bottle by herself. We have made great progress just in the last 2 days. Also, if I put a spoon on her high chair tray, she knows how to get the part with the food to her mouth. It is very messy, but that's okay. She has also been feeding herself cheerios off of her tray. One of my friends said that a lot of firsts happened between 7th and 8th months. She sure was right!
We are excited for baby boy Hogan!
